What to do on a Disney Cruise?

Posted by GoGo Goodie on April 03, 2012.

As promised, today we cover ship activities on board the Disney Fantasy cruise liner.  Wow!  Where to begin? Disney definitely knows families.  They know families want time together sharing magical experiences that create life long memories.  They also know family members need "me" time to relax and recharge.  You can definitely do it all when you're cruising on the Fantasy.

The highlight of the Fantasy is the main pool deck.  It features the Donald main pool, the Aqua Duck water roller coaster (yes, it's really cool) and the giant Funnel Vision Jumbo Screen Television.  Located in the same area is Nemo's Reef- a very cute water play area for little ones (and parents, too).  No doubt about it, the main pool area with it's water activities, movies and live stage show events is a great place the whole family will enjoy.  Check out my pics:

Youth clubs are everywhere on the Fantasy and cover all ages from the "It's a Small World" nursery to "Vibe" an exclusive area for teens 14 - 17 years old.  Disney has really done a great job of creating on board spaces every kid will enjoy- including older kids.  The staff is fantastic working to design entertainment activities to keep different age groups engaged and really having fun.  I'm amazed out how comfortable kids feel on board ship.  You can always find kids out and about on their own exploring and having fun.  I love that.  Here's a pic of the Vibe teen club's pool area located in the forward deck area. (yep. I was a little jealous.  how cool is that?)

Looking for some "me" time?  It's not hard to find aboard the Fantasy.  There are several adult only areas including pools and decks where you can just hang out, read a book, enjoy a tropical drink or whatever.  Oh and don't forget the spa! Although not exclusive to adults, it's mostly adults taking advantage of the many treatments available and work out area.  Both my husband and I spent some time here while on our cruise- a beautiful space that surpasses expectations.

Finally, don't overlook the many lounges on board the Disney Fantasy.  There's some great entertainment to be found in these areas for both families and adults.  We came in 3rd in a very competitive and very fun 80's Music Trivia Game in O'Gills Pub one afternoon.

And least I forget - there are also a couple of theaters with live shows and first run movies (even 3D).  We caught The Muppet Movie and John Carter.  Have to say, the print quality was amazing.

Each evening, the Personal Navigator brochure featuring the coming day's activity schedule is left in your stateroom.  It's a very handy guide that does a great job detailing the next day's activities.  We were never at a loss for things to do.

Thanks for stopping by GoGo Goodie, your Goodie Bag headquarters!
