The Best Christmas TV Specials and Movies, #7

Posted by GoGo Goodie on November 16, 2011.

Hello and welcome back to our countdown of the top 10 Christmas TV specials and movies!  I'll be counting them down through the end of November so by the time December hits, you'll have the complete list of what to watch.  All you'll need to do is gather the family, hang the stockings, light the fire in the fireplace, fix the hot chocolate and turn on the Christmas cheer! Today we take a look at our number 7....

Frosty the Snowman

This is the second Rankin / Bass Christmas production in our countdown.  Frosty is unusual among the Rankin / Bass production because it features hand drawn animation versus the stop-motion animation their other productions are famous for.  This warm tale introduces us to a young girl Karen and her friends at their school's Christmas party.  The entertainer for the party is a magician who's magic tricks don't exactly work.  In frustration, the magician throws away his top hat as it begins to snow outside.  The children run outside to build a snowman and finish him off with the discarded top hat.  Low and behold there's magic in that hat and frosty comes to life!  Enjoy, it's magical!

Thanks for stopping by our GoGo Goodie Christmas countdown!
